Palm Beach Joins Los Angeles, Orange, Cuyahoga, Hamilton, Wake, and Other Counties in Significant Tourism Growth with a Surge in Revenue in the US This Fiscal Year: Everything You Need to Know

Palm Beach joins Los Angeles, Orange, Cuyahoga, Hamilton, Wake, and other counties in significant tourism growth with a surge in revenue this fiscal year, driven by key attractions and events. As tourism continues to rebound across the United States, these regions have seen a substantial increase in visitor numbers, contributing to higher hotel revenues and overall economic impact. Major events, iconic attractions, and year-round appeal have played a pivotal role in attracting both domestic and international travelers. This surge in revenue highlights the resilience of the U.S. tourism industry and underscores the importance of these counties in shaping the broader tourism landscape. In this article, we’ll explore how these regions have capitalized on their unique offerings to achieve remarkable growth.

Palm Beach County celebrated its strongest year on record in the 2024‑2025 fiscal year, documenting 10.6 million visitors (up from 9.6 million the prior year) and generating $11.3 billion in economic impact. The county’s hotel room revenue hit $1.32 billion, representing an over‑11 % increase. The local 6 % bed tax contributed significantly to funding tourism infrastructure and marketing efforts. These figures reflect both recovery momentum and solid positioning of Palm Beach as a high‑end, year‑round attraction for global travellers.

Los Angeles County, California, remains one of the top destinations for both international and domestic tourists. In the 2024 calendar year, the county saw a significant boost in visitor spending, surpassing previous records. With its vibrant mix of entertainment, arts, and cultural attractions, Los Angeles continues to attract millions of tourists each year. The economic impact of tourism in the region is massive, contributing to local businesses, job creation, and the overall economy. Key events, along with Hollywood’s star power and world-renowned beaches, make Los Angeles a perennial leader in U.S. tourism.

In Orange County, Florida — home to the major tourist hub of Orlando — the recent figures show a landmark achievement in visitor spending. The county’s Tourist Development Tax collections reached nearly $384.5 million during fiscal year 2024‑25 (October 2024 to September 2025), marking the highest level ever recorded. This reflects strong demand for hotels and short‑term rentals, buoyed by attractions such as theme parks and conferences. Local officials point out that rising occupancy and average room rates helped drive the increase. The results underscore the county’s resilience and appeal as a year‑round destination for domestic and international travellers.

Cuyahoga County in Ohio posted a new tourism record in calendar year 2024, with $6.9 billion in direct visitor spending, up about 4 % from 2023. The total economic impact reached over $11.4 billion, helping to ease tax burdens for local households and supporting thousands of jobs in hospitality and related sectors. Growth in business travel, along with major conventions and leisure visitors, played a significant part in this upswing. The momentum reflects Cuyahoga’s increasing status not just as a stop‑over but as a genuine destination for events, culture and waterfront development.

In Hamilton County, Tennessee — anchored by Chattanooga — visitor spending soared to a record $1.8 billion in 2024, representing a roughly 4.2 % rise from the previous year. This increase translated into about $186.4 million in combined state and local tax revenue, and supported over 13,000 jobs in the area. Officials attribute the growth to a mix of major events (such as the World of Bluegrass) and an expanded air‑service network boosting accessibility. The county’s performance marks it among Tennessee’s top performers in the tourism space and underscores its growing importance in the regional economy.

In Wake County, North Carolina — where Raleigh sits — tourism also saw robust growth in recent years. For 2024, the county reported about 19 million visitors, an increase of 2.7 % over the previous year, with associated spending rising by 5.1 % to approximately $3.4 billion. While not precisely in the 2024‑25 fiscal year format, these results mark a new high for the county’s tourism sector. This growth has been linked to expansion of business travel, larger meeting‑and‑event hosting capacity, and a thriving technology and research ecosystem bolstering Raleigh’s appeal.

Other counties across the U.S. are also experiencing notable growth in tourism, fueled by a combination of factors that enhance their appeal. Los Angeles County, with its entertainment industry and cultural landmarks, continues to attract millions of visitors, contributing significantly to the local economy through tourism spending. Orange County benefits from its world-renowned theme parks, making it a year-round destination for families and tourists seeking thrills and entertainment. Similarly, Cuyahoga County in Ohio has seen a rise in visitor numbers thanks to its growing arts and culture scene, anchored by institutions like the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In Hamilton County, Chattanooga’s scenic beauty and outdoor activities have driven a tourism boom, with the county seeing record-breaking revenue. Wake County has experienced a steady increase in tourism, bolstered by its expanding tech and business hub in Raleigh, attracting both leisure and business travelers. These counties, each with their unique offerings, have capitalized on local attractions, events, and enhanced infrastructure to drive tourism growth and economic impact in the 2024‑2025 fiscal year.
